By attaching to the current network and enhancing coverage, your New NETGEAR range extender enhances your home Wi-Fi network. Setting up your extender will support you with the following directions.
Plug the extender in there.
- The Control LED Lamps.
- Click the Battery or On/Off button if your power LED does not light up.
- Attach the desktop or mobile device to the Mywifiext network of the extender.
- The default Wi-Fi network name (SSID) of the extender is NETGEAR EXT. If the extender network has no password, or the password is the default password.
- You may be notified by your system that the Internet is not open.

- From the drop-down menus, pick and address two security questions.

- Click or tap NEXT. Click or tap YES or Proceed if your extender asks if you would like to use NETGEAR Genie Setup to support. Check for regional WiFi networks using your extender.
- Tap NEXT or touch it.
- Insert a password for your existing service and button or tap NEXT.
- Choose the extender's SSIDs and passwords.
- By default, with _2GEXT attached to the end for the 2.4GHz band and _5GEXT for the 5GHz band, the extender uses the name of your current network. The password for each band is the same as your current network by example.
- This facilitates the modification to use the same password and Wi-Fi name (SSID) as your current Wi-Fi network. Your settings must refer to the extender.
- The Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password for each of the bands of your extender are shown in the extender. On a system where you plan to link to an extender network, go to the Wi-Fi settings and connect to a new network extension.
- Go back to your web page, press the check box at the bottom of the tab, and then click or select Proceed. Your extender has been expanding the reach of your network.
How should We reconnect my local network with my NETGEAR WiFi range extender?
- There are two modes by which users can reconnect the Netgear extender setup.
- To reconnect via Ethernet to your NETGEAR WiFi range extender:
- Into an Ethernet cable, attach your range extender to your device.
On your screen, open a web server. - Type mywifiext into the address bar of your web browser.
- Please press Enter or select Scan.
- It presents the login tab. Enter the username and password you picked during the set-up phase.
- Note: The admin is the default login and the password is the default password. The login credentials are case-sensitive.
- Click on the Account & Password Support website to retrieve your password.
- Press LOGIN. Select Configuration > Wireless Settings. Under Protection Options, a test that your router password matches the value in the Network Key area.
- Change it to your router password when the password does not fit. Click Apply. Tap Link the Wifi modules to the extender again.
- Using WiFi to reconnect to your NETGEAR WiFi range extender:
- Click and hold the Factory Settings button for 7 seconds (located on the side panel).
It resets your range extender. - Open the WiFi menu on your machine or mobile device and link to the default WiFi network of the extension, NETGEAR EXT.
- On your linked computer, open a web browser.
- Type mywifiext into the address bar of your web browser.
- Please press Enter or hit Scan. It shows the login tab. For troubleshooting, I can't access mywifiext what should I do? .. Enter your password and email.
- Note: The admin is the default login and the password is the default password. The username and password are spelled correctly.
- Press ENTER LOG. To reconnect your extender to your home network, obey the instructions. Note: If your router uses WEP encryption, when asked, enter its network name (SSID) and password.
- Link the WiFi modules to the extender again.
