Difference Between VVS Diamond and VS Diamond

Difference Between VVS Diamond and VS Diamond

A diamond by any other name is still a diamond. The difference between VVS and VS diamonds is one of clarity and inclusions. Clarity refers to the absence of inclusions, while quality refers to the number of points per carat that are present on the diamond's surface. Both VVS and VS diamonds have clarity of at least Flawless, but with different concentrations of qualities present within them. Inclusions are small pieces of material that may be found inside a diamond or on its surface. These inclusions can range from tiny flecks of colorless or yellowish material to large chunks of colored stone. They may also be referred to as impurities because they look like holes drilled into the diamond. This is not always true; some inclusions are natural flaws in the crystal structure of the diamond. Some people refer to these naturally occurring imperfections as faults.

What does the VVS Clarity Grade Mean
VVS (Very Very Slightly Included) means there are only very few inclusions, usually less than 10, on the entire surface of the diamond, but they are so fine that you cannot see them unless you use magnification. A diamond-graded VVS has no more than two or three inclusions.

What does VS Clarity Grade Mean
VS (Very Slightly Included) means there are more inclusions as compared with VVS diamonds. A diamond-graded VS has anywhere from 10 to 20 inclusions on each side. But most of them are too small to even notice.

Difference Between VVS and VS
The main difference between VVS and Vs is the concentration of inclusions. VVS diamonds contain fewer inclusions than VS diamonds. When comparing a diamond's grade, it is important to know how many inclusions are included in the diamond. If a diamond contains more than 10 inclusions on both sides, then it is graded VS. If a diamond contains fewer than 10 inclusions on either side, it is graded VVS.

Diamond clarity blemishes and inclusions
Inclusions are tiny particles of foreign matter that get trapped in the crystal lattice of the diamond during its formation. These inclusions may take the form of impurities such as iron, nickel, sulfur, carbon, oxygen, nitrogen, boron, etc. Or they may be formed by stress fractures caused when the diamond was being cut or polished. A diamond cutter can't remove all of these inclusions, so the presence of inclusions is inevitable. However, the presence of inclusions doesn't necessarily mean that a diamond will lose value. As long as the inclusions don't affect the brilliance of the diamond, they won't detract from its beauty.

Impurities are sometimes called blemishes. Impurities are often mistaken for inclusions. To distinguish an inclusion from an impurity, remember that inclusions are visible only under magnification, whereas impurities can be seen without magnification.

So which should you choose a VVS diamond or a VS diamond
If you want a diamond that looks flawless, then go ahead and buy a VVS diamond. You'll pay a little bit more for this diamond, but your investment will last forever. On the other hand, if you're looking for a diamond with lots of sparkles, then opt for a VS diamond. It will cost you a lot less money, but it might not have quite as much sparkle.

How do I Know Which Diamond Is Better For Me
When buying a diamond, you need to consider several things before making your final decision. First, you need to decide whether you want a white diamond or a fancy colored diamond. White diamonds are typically expensive than fancy colored diamonds. Second, you need to determine what shape you prefer. Round diamonds are generally considered the best choice.
